Protein - Facts women need to know!

Protein - Facts women need to know!

1. Most Women Aren’t Eating Enough Protein

You may think your diet is healthy—but if you’re not consciously including protein in every meal, chances are you're under-eating it. The general guideline is:

0.8 to 1 gram of protein per kg of body weight per day

So if you weigh 65kg, you need at least 50–60g of protein daily—and that’s the bare minimum.

2. Protein Isn’t Just for Muscles

Protein is the raw material for your hormones, enzymes, neurotransmitters, and immune cells.

Low protein = low mood, hair fall, dull skin, sugar cravings, fatigue, and hormonal chaos.

Whether it’s painful periods, PMS, PCOS, or perimenopause—protein plays a key role in regulating and stabilizing hormones.

3. It Helps You Burn Fat, Not Muscle

When you reduce calories without increasing protein, your body starts burning muscle instead of fat. That’s why women often lose "weight" but still feel flabby or weak.
Protein boosts metabolism, satiety, and helps the body hold onto lean muscle while dropping fat.

4. It Gets Tougher After 35

With age, the body’s ability to synthesize protein decreases. So if you're over 35, you need more protein to maintain muscle, manage weight, and stay energized—especially through perimenopause and menopause. + Collagen significantly decreases with age and you need protein for your body to create more of it!!

5. Protein Can Also Trigger Bloating in Women

Here’s the part no one talks about:
Just increasing protein isn’t always helpful—especially if it’s coming from sources your body can’t digest well.

Many women struggle with bloating, heaviness, and inflammation when they start eating more protein. Why? Because not all protein is gut-friendly.

Dals & Legumes

Yes, they’re packed with protein. But they’re also full of anti-nutrients like lectins and phytic acid that can irritate the gut lining, cause gas, and lead to bloating—especially if your gut is already sensitive.

Sattu

A popular Indian plant protein, sattu is heating and drying. For women prone to bloating, constipation, hormonal acne, or inflammation—it can make things worse if not consumed in the right way.

Whey Protein

Especially cheap or low-quality whey. It often causes acne, bloating, water retention, and even mood dips in women who are sensitive to dairy or have sluggish digestion.

Which is why, I knew I had to create a gut-friendly protein based on the Indian superfood Hemp seed!

  • Easy to digest

  • Free from gluten, excess dairy, and common irritants

  • Balanced with digestive herbs or enzymes

  • Designed to support your gut, not fight it

It is full of ancient Indian plants that not just give you protein but also double up as a collagen!
